Business sales & purchases
Selling or buying a business is usually a once-in-a-career event, and the details decide the outcome. We prepare the numbers, advise on price and structure, and stay with you through negotiation to settlement.
How we help.
- Preparing a business for sale
- Valuation and pricing
- Information memorandum and financial pack
- Asset or share sale and the tax position
- Offers, heads of agreement and negotiation
- Settlement adjustments, with your lawyer
Is this you?
- Owners planning to sell in the next one to three years
- Buyers who want an adviser on their side
- Partners selling out to each other
Good to know.
When should I start preparing to sell?
Ideally 12 to 24 months ahead. That is long enough to tidy the accounts, reduce reliance on you and show a clean run of results.
Will I pay tax when I sell?
Often, but the small business CGT concessions can reduce or eliminate it for eligible owners. Eligibility depends on details that are worth checking well before a sale.
Do you act for buyers as well as sellers?
Yes, though never for both sides of the same deal.
